Am need help on what processor to get. Motherboard: DFI LANPARTY nF4 SLI-DR I just don't know which one I should get.
Depends on what price range. if you're looking for a performance beast, go for the Athlon64 4000 S939. If you're lookinf for good performance but for less the A64 3500 winchester or venice core s939. If you want a more budget type, the A64 3000 winchester/venice core s939. All of them, even the 3000 will give you good gaming performance; and to an extent overclockability.
For under $300, the best one if this Athlon 64 3500 Venice. It'll perform very well in games and normal use and will be especially overclockable.
BTW you may need to update your mobo BIOS for the Venice core. The Venice is the next stepping model after winchester and has lower heat output which should be easier to cool. It also has the SSE3 instruction set which will boost performance in some programs.
I don't know, but I'm pretty sure DFI can do a BIOS update with supplied motherboard software through windows. If not, you can run a BIOS update from a floppy.
Yep, they'll be flashing instructons on their site. Don't worry I think that your mobo has a dual BIOS feature just inase anyway.
