My comp is fried help!!!

hey everyone this is what happes when i try to turn my comp on. i press the power button and all my fans go all my drives work and i can see my hd light saying its reading the hd. The screen remains completly black my bios dosnt go and then nothing happens. i think maybe it might be my graphics card but who knows. like i said all my drives open and close. please help!!!!

Have you tried your computer with a different monitor or switched out any componets? Or even tried your computer with just the computer and monitor. That means no mouse, keyboard, speakers, etc (assuming your compy will boot w/o keyboard). Also, [and i know this sounds ridiculous] is your mouse plugged directly into a USB port by chance? I just barely got my computer "working" after it wouldn't boot into the OS. Turned out that (for some reason) it wasn't booting because my mouse was plugged into USB. I just got a USB-PS2 adapter on it and it works fine now... Anyhow, just a thought. It'd be helpful if you could post the brand and specs of RAM, Power supply, etc that you might happen to know along with anything you may have tried so far. i removed all usb devices and just tried the computer with the monitor, still didnt work. i have a soyo px400 ultra motherboard the ram is from crucial.com. p4 2.8 ghz processor that was overclocked to 3.0 ghz. Video card is geforcefx5600 256mb of ram which i had slightly overlcocked for some time. Now when i start my comp up i get contiuous long beeps, but whats crazy is my cpu,video psu and case fans all work. all my drives open and close. i think it might be the memory but i dunno yet

The best way to debug this is to take a working computer and switch out components from the working machine into the dead one one at a time until you find a combination that works. Do you have a computer that you can do this with?

I have had similar problems to this before with computers I have built and this is my approach. First I unplug unnessesary devices (ALL of them) one at a time. All unnessesary devices includes CD Drives and non booting hard drives. If this does not work try clearing your BIOS. You can do this by removing the BIOS battery. In case you don't know where it is it is usually at the bottom of the motherboard. It is a round button-type battery. First switch off and/or unplug the power supply. Then open the case and take out the battery for around a minute, to make sure all data is cleared. Then put it back in and try booting. If this doesn't work I think you're out of luck. Right now I'm RMAing a mobo because the motherboard had the same problem.

i have cleared the bios and removed all unneccesary parts also including drives and such in my troubleshooting process. also i dont ahve another compatible machine to switch the parts out with that's the whole reason why im asking for your guys help. all the steps i have taken so far hasnt changed anythin yet. nothing boots nothing comes up on screen. im jus hoping if one of you has a suggestion on what piece went so i can confirm it and replace it. thanks for the help/advice!!!
