These are my choices for my new system. I can't decide whether to go with the MSI motherboard and the AMD 3200+ or the DFI LANPARTY paired with the 3500+. I would buy a MSI 6800 vanilla with the MSI 3200+ setup, but I would buy the MSI 6600gt with the DFI 3500+ setup. I can't decide!!!

If gaming is your thing then go with the 3200 and 6800 (though I would suggest getting an X800:)) It will be a good bit faster than the 6600GT, enough to make it worth it.
Why not the DFI LP and the 3200?

How do the MSI 6800 and the ATI x800pro compare?

Also, is the DFI LP board SLI? It says it has 2 16x slots, but it does not say it is SLI in any of the descriptions.

If it is SLI, then I will go:

    DFI LP
    MSI 6800 or X800pro
    Corsair dual channel kit
    Thermaltake Purepower 480W
    Chenming Case
    AMD 64 3200+

The X800Pro is a good deal faster than the 6800, the X800Pro is a very fast card with some nice overclocking potential too. The lower end and cheap DFI LP is not SLI ready, you can buy an SLI bridge but there is no guarentee it will allow you to run two cards. The fact is you don't need SLI, it's most useful for those who want the absolute best, but no game requres it and many don't really like it. It's an upgrade path, but it will only be putting dated parts in your computer when the time comes, and it may be hard to find the exact same model as you bought. ATI cards, like the X800Pro do not function in SLI as it's nVidia's technology.

So instead, maybe I should get a nice Nforce 4 Ultra board instead of Nforce 4 SLI.

    Nforce 4 Ultra board
    x800pro
    corsair dual channel
    amd 3200+

I really do like Nvidia cards better, so I'm a little hesitant....but what can I say, It's better, but it's the same price as the MSI 6800? weird

Please post the exact x800pro card you would get...
