    HI
I am new to these forums so not quite sure if I am in the right place.

I don't know much about computers so please got easy on me.

Firstly I have winfixer installer popping up evertime I log on and I can't seem to get it off, it doesn't install anything!

SEcondly my computer keeps freezing, either the page freezes or the page goes blank when I try to change page or go onto a link.

I also keep getting error reporting messages.

I think it is something to do with my memory but how do I check?

I have norton and spybot and have cleaned my system up and everything looks ok.

    Hope someone can help!

    Diane

First check your start-up folder (Start -> All Programs -> Start-up) and see if you have anything in there you don't need. You may also need to do this from the administrators account if that is not the one you normally use.

Is this only in IE? Personally I take the view that IE is broken by default and tell people to use Firefox instead rather than waste time trying to fix a broken browser.

What kind of error messages and what do they say? When do you get them?

    That's what we're here for :)

Try downloading [google]MS Antispyware[/google] and do a scan, then try updating windows.

Diane, sorry, but you have an illegal version of Windows. We recommend either purchasing a legal copy or using a free & legal alternative operating system.

Hi you can't update it how you used to because mircosoft have now made sure that only people who own genuine copy's of xp, can now update, being as the man next door put his version on, makes your copy a none genuine one.

So you will either have to put up with what is happening, buy a genuine copy from a computer shop, or change to linux.
