thinking of purchasing AMD 64 3200+

I was thinking of getting a new computer and was possibly going to purchase one with a AMD 64 Processor 3200+. Is there a problem with installing software and getting it to work with the new 64's. I thought that I heard one time somewhere that some software may not work on the new 64's. Any thoughts on this.
 
Please clarify your question - like what software won't run on the AMD64 3200+ ? Never heard of any. As for the CPU itself, make sure its the Socket 939 Model.
 
Nope, no software problems with 64-bit processors compared to 32-bit. 64-bit windows however has bad driver support.
 
Right now 64-bit OS and 64-bit programs are on the scarce side of things. Add to this that we're just getting into the 64-bit software area, there's issues that need to be worked out. The A64 natively supports both 32-bit and 64-bit applications, and is the model for most x86-based 64-bit applications.
 
The 3200+ is an excellent processor, I would highly recommend it if you're looking into a new upgrade. As said before go with a socket 939 version and Venice core, and obviously a compatable mobo.
