Where can I find a bios update for my ktapro kt133a motherboard. VIA VT8363A. I cant seem to find them and I would like to find a reliable source to download these from. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
does your motherboard have some sort of offical website, well the motherboard manufacturer? also put your specs in your profile or my computer thing in user cp, it will be usefull to us if you come on here with a problem in the future
They do have an official address listed in the motherboard manual HOWEVER, its 5 years old and no longer works. My comp is an amd athlon t-bird 1 gig. 256 mb pc 133 ram, 20 gig western digital 5200 hd, 300w power source, cd rom and floppy.
oh, 5 years old, i would of thought the offical website would still have bios downloads for them, is there a discontinued motherboards section on the manufacturer site?
The KT133A is the chipset, and the VT8363A is the accompanying southbridge. Do you know who made the motherboard as telling who made the chipset doesn't mean much in this case.
http://www.lucky-star.com.tw/ is the website listed, check it out, dead end. Sounds like this f'in mother board is too if i cant get bios for it.
Googling it turns up a lot of Russian sites with adult advertisements...I've heard this brand once before, but nothing since. I'm not sure what's become of LuckyStar, but it doesn't appear to be much.
It sounds like im screwed?? Is this true?? Do I just need to suck it up and replace the motherboard if I cant get updated bios?
Well what do you need the BIOS update for? Updates are made solely to address a problem, it's not a patch or tweak, it's a FIX! So unless you are having problems with motherboard (including compatibility issues) i suggest you don't update! What i'm saying is basically don't update just for the 'sake' of it!
Having problems, need the bios. I have always had problems with this damn thing. Anywho, I guess pricewatch is my friend.
Hmm, what problems, maybe they can be fixed w/o the BIOS update. Unless you've already looked into that which it sounds like you may have.
insert screw and twist is what im getting out of this. I basically need a new motherboard if things are messed up and I cant get new bios for it?? Am I right?
try www.driverguide.com they have a pretty wide range of drivers....i just searched for "VT8363A" and got 5 hits.....when searching for "KT133a" there were several hundred hits... check it out
I will have to check it out. Dont have time tonight but I will get online tomorrow and see what I can dig up.
