Here is a link for my mobo's manual. Mobo Manual For anyone that is familiar with mobo's, if I disconnect the "Front Audio"(meaning the audio jacks that are on the front top of the case and not the ones in the rear), should that disable my onboard sound? I disconnected the Front Audio and then my onboard sound has since stopped?
It doesn't really make sense to me, by disconnecting you front audio you should be doing nothing more than forcing to use the ports in the back from now on. It should have no bearing on your actual onboard sound. Assuming it wan't plugged into on of thoes ports and your speakers are setup correctly. You should be able to disable onboard audio in the BIOS.
Well, my PC has been working fine ever since the day I built it. Last week I decided to disable the front audio for various reasons and I noticed that now I have NO sound at all on my computer. I went into the BIOS and OnBoard Sound is enabled. There shouldn't be any wires that you have to connect to the motherboard in able to get onboard audio to work right? I mean onboard audio is just part of the motherboard and should work regardless I think?
What'd you do to figure it out? I'm curious. And yes the onboard audio will need some connections to work. But you'll obviously need speakers or you'll hear nothing
Yeah, I didn't realize that I pulled the rear audio connection as well.............! Like I said, idiotic mistake. Thanks for the replies and help.
