CPU question

    Its here, finally, the motherboard/cpu/ram bundle i ordered on tue has arrived, parcelforce just dropped it off moments ago.

    I examined the kit and everything is fine except for the cooling unit for the processor. Is it supposed to look like this? The processor is a amd 64 althon 4400+ x2 dual core processor.

    If you look closely at the copper coloured tubes sticking out of it, on this side they look like 2 have been chopped off, is this right? or is this the way its supposed to be?

    Its just weird seeing 4 tubes but only two of them go around the thing, then what is the purpose of the 2 shorter ones?

    Looks like a heatpipe implementation to me, which helps in the disappation of heat---always a good thing.

    Big B is spot on,

    exactly the same as mine, works like a dream, have to check it's running sometimes, it's so cool (relativly)

    my only complaint it looks a bit naff thru my sound window, after a zalman flower, expensive but mmmmmmm........
