One of my big pet peeves with XP is that it's still three menus deep to get to the stupid option to view hidden files.

Anyone know of a hack to put a button on the explorer bar or add a choice to, say, the view menu?

Not to my knowledge, although I'm sure you could record a macro/BAT file to do it for you and place a shortcut on the task bar...perhaps.

How about changing the properties of the ones you want to look at frequently so they're not hidden?

Have a look at the attachment -

I am assuming this is the dialogue box you get when opening Folder Options.

What happens if you click on the 'Apply To All Folders' button?

Does this apply to all folders or only to the sub folder of the folder you are in?
