I'm just looking for a good program to edit video files and so on. Sort of like a more advanced Windows Movie Maker. Thanks in advance.
If you have cash to burn and want to get some extremely professional, powerful programs, then consider Adobe Premiere or Vegas 5. If you're on a budget, then there are plenty of high quality programs but for not extreme prices, such as Pinnacle.
I use a program called VideoReDo. It's a very quick and simple video editor. It can quickly cut out adverts from my MPEG2 files, which I create using my Hauppauge Digital TV software. It creates quality video in less then half the time of most other editing software.
I should really put this in my signature as this is such a good site for all things video..... Yep, you guessed it - www.videohelp.com. It has such a vast variaty of programs for anything video that you do not really need to go anywhere else. Also the forums are very helpful. I have to say that they are not as freindly as folks here but they are not far behind. Everytime I need an answer on video matters I always look there. One word of advice, do not discuss downloading of copywrite protected materials, big no no there. You are likely to be banned.
I am...purchasing...Priemere and Pinnacle now, I'll have to purchase VideoReDo and Vegas 5 later. Thanks guys.
I was going to suggerst to try a few free ones first..... It is always worth trying something free....
