Banged Pc With My Foot Last Night, It Flashed Up A Blue Screen With Lots Of Text Then Shut Down Before I Had Chance To Read It. Now It Will Not Boot Up, Does Not Turn Monitor On As Well. Power Up Using Power Switch At Back Cpu Fan Runs, Cd Drives Light Up, Num Lock On Keyboard Lights Up, No Light On Mouse. Nothing From Monitor. Tried Removing Both Memory Cards, Discounting Hard Drives, Removed Cpu. Turn Power Back On And Nothing. Checked Mother Board For Visable Damage But Cant See Anything Wrong. Anybody Got Any Ideas Of Anything Else I Could Check What Might Be Causing This Problem.
First check that you didn't knock out or even slightly move your video card. Try taking out the video card and placing it back in correctly. Do the same thing for your ram. Have the checked the obvious the cables behind your monitor and the ones attached to the video card. When you kicked the tower did the pc shut down right away? If so there is a chance you may have shorted something if the motherboard touched the case . i doubt it but its a possibility good luck
Thanks, removed video card and then refitted it, tried this but still nothing, fitted spare CPU from work, computer fired up (yes). Refitted my own CPU and the PC fired up straight away. Just had to go into the CMOS to reselect the HD's. May thanks for your help, Back online. Jonny
