Hell''o Need some help please. I am looking for a K8N8X-LA Diablo socket 754 micro ATX mother board, or a board that will work in my HP pavilion t680.uk. The one thats in the t680 seems to be faulty. All the fans are running at full speed, the CPU fan and the case fan. Nothing else works:swear: Regards Ian.
I believe HP uses Asus motherboards. I don't think you can buy the exact model from retailers, but if you can find out what chipset it uses, you should be able to find a motherboard that will fit the bill.
Hi and thanks The chip set would be NVIDIA nForce3 150SPP (single chipset) I will have a look tomorrow. Wished I had bought a sinclair spectrum, less problems!!! Regards Ian.
i think you'd be better off buying a new case and PSU cos you may only be restricted to buying a new mobo from HP try reseating components (e.g. RAM, grfx card, CPU etc. etc.)
There is one thing you might want to try: a more powerful power supply. While pre-builts typically come with a decent power supply, if it's old enough, it may just not be able to muster enough to power on the system. Given the low-power nature of most pre-builts, a solid 350W or better from the likes of Antec, Enermax, Thermaltake or FSP Group (Fortron or Sparkle brands) should be enough to power that system up. nForce 3 150 boards are relatively old NF3 chips, so you may have some trouble tracking one down. The nForce 3 250/250Gb (Gb has the integrated 1Gb LAN) isn't new either, but it's a more souped-up version.
