I'm trying to install Mandriva on my Toshiba laptop with Intel 945G graphics chipset. Mandriva asks for me to select my chipset, so I select it from the list, but when I go to test the settings it says: An error occured. (EE) No devices detected. Try to change some parameters I've tried changing resolutions, etc but no go. Any suggestions? *Edit* Nvm..I tried selecting the Vesa X Server instead of choosing my graphics device and it seems to work...weird. *Edit2* Well it worked for the install process but now its constantly switching between console and the Mandriva Linux Free background lol.
Try updating your OS to all the latest binaries; there is a later build of X.org which contains newer drivers for the 945 which may work better for your 945g (intel is lazy with video chipset support). If that doesn't fix it, please attach the contents of your /var/log/Xorg.0.log file here and I'll be glad to look it over for you.
