does anyone know why or how I can stop mandriva from changing my dns address? It keeps changing it to 192.168.178.1 and its preventing me from accessing the web. it usually resets after 15 minutes or so then I have to manually go to control center > internet & network > alter miscellaneous settitngs > and then change it back to 192.168.1.1.
Thats strange, as a temporary measure. Try doing Code: chmod a-r /etc/resolv.conf That will make the resolv.conf file read only. Hopefully it will stop it being reset. Obviously do that after you've changed the DNS entries to the right ones.
Odd... After a few mins I lost web access so it obviously reset but when I go to the control center like in the attachement it reports that the dns hasn't changed, still saying 192.168.1.1 P.S. how do I chmod it to the default value? I had to use another PC to type this on
