I'm running windows XP, I have an SB audigy2zs. And in my recording control volume settings I have to check the microphone box for my mic to work. But it randomly unchecks itself and check the wave box. Does anyone know how to make 1 box stay checked?

Double click on the Sound Icon......go to the properties and uncheck the wave icon from there.
You will have no wave bar then, if no wave bar;no unchecks...:D
Alternatively, you can get it back just by checking the wave bar in the properties again.

I've tried that, It still unchecks the mic box, and checks the wave box even if i can't see it. If I keep the record volume window open it stays checked... well somtimes, I think when i change my volume for say, ventrilo it unchecks even when the volume controls are open.

Suspect seems to be some kind of virus. Did you run an antivirus check on your system yet? Or there might be program, who is clashing with your Sounds and doing suspicious activities.
When this thing started happening? Did you install something recently like a driver/software, which has caused this thing?
