    Hi,
I hope somebody can help me with this. I created a new spreadsheet this morning and saved it as normal. Now when I open it, I cannot type anything into it and the mouse cannot click on anything useful. As an experiment, I also opened a new excel document and I have the same thing. It also seems that Word is the same - open a new document and keyboard will not type/mouse cannot click on anything.

Using the network, I opened this mornings spreadsheet on another pc and I was able to work on it with no problem.

    What do I do?

    Thanks in anticipation.

i´m by no means an expert with excel, but the only thing i can think of is:have you tried opening the spreadsheet on the machine you created it on, have you locked the spreadsheet in any way (set a password)

I seem only to be having a problem using it on the machine I used to create it. As far as I know I have not done anything different from normal.

What version of Microsoft Excel have you got?

    Microsoft Excel 95
    Microsoft Excel 97
    Microsoft Excel 2000
    Microsoft Excel 2002 (Office XP)
    Microsoft Excel 2003 (Office XP)

    --
To find out what version ->

Open Microsoft Excel -> Help -> About Microsoft (Office) Excel

    --

There are a number of ways to Lock & Freeze your spreadsheets, I can help you more with some version info.

    Thanks

Do some of these methods to see if your spreadsheet is "reclickable".

File -> Permission -> Unristricted access Tick

Tools -> Protection -> Have a look around this menu.

    Hope this helps.

Have you done virus/trojans/adwares check? Also make sure that you have all the updates of your office 2003 from Microsoft's website.
