Hiya, newbie here, so euhmm 'hi' ! :)

Basically i bought a fairly decent HP PC about 6 months ago, then learnt a thing or two, and decided to rip most of it out and upgrade it, but atm i'm stuck with the stock board [ mATX Size ] in this shite HP Case, So, with my Current Specs @ 'My Computer' would any of you be so kind to direct me to a decent ATX board [ Not mATX] I'd Say I'd wanna spend about £100 Max On it, I don't intend to go SLi, want about 4GB Max RAM 'spose and Socket 775 :)

    Thank Yoooooooooooo :)

I'm assuming you're getting a new case too here, but yeah, there's some good ones out.

It's probably not going to be a screamer, but the Gigabyte GA-8I945PG-RH would be a good move. However, with Core 2 available, you might want to consider spending a little past £100 and go with a motherboard that supports Core 2 CPU's, like the Abit AB9.

Too be honest, if the ABIT Board is alot better and should last me alot longer than the gigabyte, i spose i should go for the higher option, i need one pretty quick, I had to flash my current bios to get this chip to work, plus this has no overclocking options and the northbridge chipset is exposed as i ripped the HS of it to put a little LED one that wont fit :p

P.S Ta for correcting the Spelling Error :)

Good Core 2 boards are just coming out, and from what I've been reading, the Asus P5B series are supposed to be pretty good too. I'm not sure about the availability in the UK. Still, the Abit one is pretty solid in terms of stability.

Do you know if there are any major differences between the Abit AB9 and the Abit AB9 pro tho?
Because it looks like a safe bet...

The Pro looks like it has a few more SATA connections on the motherboard.
