I am pulling my hair out over this!

Office XP is installed and works fine under any account with Administrative privileges. However when I try to run an office application from an account with normal user privileges, the Windows installer pops up saying 'configuring Microsoft Office XP....'. Then the Windows installer will disappear and come back again. It will do this approx 6 times before the Office application loads. This problem affects all Office applications, including Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Outlook.

Outlook actually displays an additional error message when it finally loads up: outlvba.dll is not a valid office add-in

Outlook won't send or receive emails either, which it does do in an account with Administrative privileges.

    Things i've tried so far:

    Used the office repair function
Put my user account into the administrative group, installed office then restriced my account again.
Installed office from the administrator account
Installed office using the Run As command.

I am absolutely stuck on this one.

So just to clarify: Everything works fine as Administrator - no problems whatsover. Only problems running as Restricted user

Nevermind, I found the fix after a whole day searching :eek:hah:

Typically it envolved fiddling with the registry....

did you also try running the app using "run as?" I know you installed it that way, but what about just running it?
