Hello everyone, I have a Desktop PC that uses a WiFi Connection, recently I've been having problems with my connections. The PCI card seems to connect perfectly fine to my neighbours network (Permission granted to use there network) but when I try to connect to mine, Windows takes forever to connect, atleast ten minutes, most of the time 9/10 the connection is never succesful. I don't know why this is, my routers never given me problems before. Hopefully i've provided enough information to help assist you in this problem Thanks so much
What is the make and model of your router, where is it located (how far away), how many antenna's does it use and what version of Windoze are you using? Please elaborate a bit more so we can help you. Hope this helps.
Try connecting to your router with a network cable, to see if its a wireless problem, or your router's DHCP malfunctioning.
Here is a little more about the router I found last night. Manufacture: Linksys Wireless 2.4ghz Broadband Router Model: WRT54G Version: 4.0 The router has worked great for me, until well just recently. Here is a list of my attempts to fix it (Hammer to the unit, lol joking) Change SSID, reset WEP Security, Disabled Wireless Security, Reset the Router itself, Connected it to my gamming computer via RJ45 Cable. I've noticed when I disabled my WEP I could connect to the network via WiFi but that was with the router sitting on my lap right next to my Wireless desktop PC. Im really confused with this Router now, it worked before, Thanks so much again for the great help!
Hi, you may want to try flashing your WRT54G to the latest firmware: Linksys.com Downloads/Firmware Hope this helps!
