fresh install of kubuntu, most things installed & configured, but VMware is installed but not configured, when i try to configure "sudo vmware-config.pl" after i typed the location of gcc, got this error:
kernel headers are correct location, at a loss as to what it could be: both web pages quoted are the same, kubuntu is supported

Make sure that automake and its appropriate dependencies are installed. there are quite a few different versions like automake1.6, 1.7, 1.8 which exist in the same repository.
