yes yes yes, its my fault (again) alright, i admit it, i was too cockey (over confident) with kubuntu, i thought, yeah, no problem, i can throw a new graphics driver at it, how wrong could i be booted kubuntu Live (to reinstall) deleted /home/dave/.kde, tried reinstalling (with no mount points) just install to / & swap but installer crashes what should i do ? pwease help, i promise i won't mess with the grfx driver again, well maybe Edit: though this may be usefull too thankies IA
donkey, you really should avoid reinstalling when something goes wrong. It's a bad way to fix things as you don't learn anything. Strange installer problem, a python script doesn't seem to be working properly.
how do you think i should proceed ? bearing in mind that i've deleted /home/dave/.kde trust me, i don't do anything easy
I'm not sure, I don't know much about the Ubuntu installer. What was your original graphics problem? If you installed the graphics driver and it caused problems, you can just revert back to your previous driver by editing the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file and changing the video driver to the default "ati" one.
don't worry about it, done a reinstall, cos i know how to do that, in fact i've nearly got the new setup fully functional "as before"
