help formatting

    im a comlete noob can someone help me, i need to take a pirate copy of windows xp off my pc and replace with a proper version, i have saved everything i need so whats left can go, but i dont know what to do to remove the old copy, please help

    there are a number of ways to go, the easiest way is to just install the new XP, you do this by booting from the XP CD (assuming your installing XP SP1 or greater) and when prompted, format the drive, then continue installing XP

    Yep, just do what donkey said and it should be ok. When asked, make sure you choose NTFS format, don't do the quick format.
