what is the best ATI card on the market at the moment? is the x1950 pro worth the £152 im thinking of spending on it or should i spend my money elsewhere
the X1950pro is worth the money, however the best ATI GPU on the market is the X1950XTX, beats all cards exept for 8800 series from Nvidia. I am thinking of getting the X1950Pro for AGP , but i may wait untill some DX10 to come out on AGP.
Yup. The X1950XTX is the king from ATi, which competes with the GeForce 7900GTX. They'll have something to compete with the GeForce 8800GTX early next year. If you want the fastest card right now, nVidia wins.
X1950XTX dont compete with the 7900GTX, there way above 7900GTX, even the X1900XT could beat a 7900GTX..
the X1950Pro does not have 36 pipelines, i rekon it has 16, the 36 is for the shader processors i think. But the X1950XTX only has 16pipelines too, still beats them all, pipeliens are not as important as they used to be.
were abotus did you find that? from what i have seen the X1950Pro has about 12 pixel pipelines. Were it says 36pipes, its actually wrong.
Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK is it a good un?
Thanks, im a bit stuck though, debating between that and the 7900GS, i want something that will be able to play games on high, and when dx10 cards become common place then ill upgrade. But for the moment its between that card u just saw adn this one: Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK which would you go for?
With the exception of Oblivion, most games are playable at 1600x1200 at the max (maybe a little higher) with like 2x AA and 4x AF. Some of the newer games (Oblivion) can run, but you might have to drop down to 1280x1024 or 1024x768 to play them smoothly. I have a 7900GS --reviewed here-- and you can see the results. That XFX card is probably not the cheapest 7900GS out there, so if you're not dead set on that particular card, you might want to look around. Now, the Radeon X1950 Pro is it's competition, but I don't know exactly how it feels in gameplay. Benchmarks are useful to an extent, but they don't tell the whole story. Charts can't give you a feel for how the card handles games, unlike real-world gameplay. My guess is that while the X1950Pro is generally faster, you won't be able to tell a difference. My advice would be to go with whatever you can find cheaper.
I have checked out some reviews from the X1950Pro, and the 7900GS comes out on top on most benchmarks.
thanks. If anyone could look at graphics cards on Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK and post some links on this thread showing good graphics cards for a maximum of £160, itd be greatly appreciated. Also I do plan to upgrade to dx10 when its cheaper to.
Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK. If you could go over by £10 you could get a 7950GT^ Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK above is nice.
