I received Gran Turismo 5 for Thanksgiving. We don't celebrate it here actually, but because I work at an American company I had a day off, so I played that game all day long :)

Are you able to connect the two slaves to the Secundary IDE connector, eventually combining them with the cd/dvd drive instead of the primary hard drive?

Welcome to HWF :) That stuff is called Thermal Paste, which is required to help transferring the heat. You should be able to get it from any computer store (I'd recommend Artic Silver, which works great).

The audio is okay, as far as I'm concerned. Couldn't test 5.1 though, because Windows can't output that through an optical cable. There's even an option to choose between a quiet and noisy environment.

I've played the 1st level today, and it certainly looks amazing. I'll continue playing the Single Player mode this week, and provide some more reviews. Usually these games look great in the beginning, and start to wear off later on. Anyway, IGN has made a review for CoD Black Ops: Call of Duty...

I have a Debian box, and for some reason today it can't connect to my network. The router uses the address 192.168.2.1 and the Debian box uses 192.168.2.51. This has always worked, but for some reason it can't ping to any host and can't be pinged by other hosts. Pinging to 127.0.0.1 does...

Welcome to HWF :) You should replace your hard drive. If the laptop is still under warranty, it should be possible to have it repaired for free.
