The Overclocking of a CPU is done from the Motherboard and Not the Processor.. You will need the Right Motherboard to do ANY Overclocking..

Either one of those is not good, Plus there must be a reason why it burnt like that.. It looks like some kind of Short... I would replace the Motherboard and PSU, Unless you want a Fire some day..

Can you get into Safe Mode ? You will need to use system restore and Restore back to an earlier setting.. Or Restore to default settings in your OC software under safe mode.. Have you remove the Bio's battery for 10 minutes ?

Try to put the card back to Default settings..It sounds like it was overclocked Too far..

When doing a fresh install Most computers will not find the USB ports until Windows is installed.. I never had a problem installing from dvd, But Many Problems when trying to install from USB.. Plus Allot of Motherboards will not let you boot from USB ..

You need to burn ISO file to DVD, Allot of Problems with USB install..

This Laptop sounds like a handful, It sounds like it was Probably Dropped ...I think I would try another hard drive to see what will happen, If that works great... If not, then I would Move on to another Laptop... That One seems to have allot of Problems...

Not all BSOD are cause by memory, A failing hard drive can also do this.. have you run spinrite or hard drive regenator to check hard drive for errors.

What are the specks of this Notebook ?

First Question is, What is the Max memory you can install ? It would be probably cheaper to get another used / refurbished laptop than spend the money to try to fix that one..

Pull the Battery out and run on charger Only, The test computer to see On how it runs... Sounds like the Battery to me Also,,,

This Sounds like a Motherboard or Hard drive Problem... Most BSD are from the Hard drive... Scandisk the hard drive or run Spinrite...

I went with this Method and works.. Windows 7/ Windows 8 on Hd 1... Then install both Linux on Hd 2 .... Using grub as Boot manager..

This could be a number of things, You do not mention on how much ram you have.... Most freezing will come from a bad video card..
