I'm afraid the best you are going to find is a 75hz in the general market, and that will probably be forced down to a real 60hz, its just not needed by the general public, supply and demand thing i'm afraid. I hear good things (but no solid numbers) of the refresh rates on the new OLED...

No I agree overrating by so little should be fine, it is underrating that you need to be careful with. Be careful if you are poking about in the back of a CRT, very dangerous! Unless you are on a 3inch thick rubber matt in a proper electronics lab! Even then - I stay clear!

Ive heard nothing but bad things about xp 64bit, compatability wise, i ran it once and once only, if going to the trouble go to vista 64 it seems to have better support. But really the only reason for going to 64 as there are no 64 bit apps or games as yet is if you are going over 3.5gb of ram...

I always felt that the factory Overclocked cards were pretty good, the best thing that they are Guaranteed! to work at that speed and you can get a replacement if it burns out, as opposed to overclocking a stock card that then burns out but you have invalidated your warranty in doing so...

Yeah, if in XP right click on the desktop>bottom option>far right tab (usually) you should see a slider that sets the resolution, dont worry if the screen goes blank, probably means you selected a resolution the screen can't handle - DON'T press anything, the screen will go back to the old...

Right well yeah i'd try it unplugged overnight at least. Is the menu responsive or has it frozen there on the screen? Is there a degause button? Try changing to a different resolution, as a CRT has to re-sync you never know may wake it up.

When you say 'unplug' have you powered off the monitor long enough to let the capacitors that will be powering the logic/program board to run down? There is probably a bug in the config program that is keeping the display open and unable to close. If you can work out how to reset it you may...
