    have you tried reset cmos? or loading bios defaults? if not you could have some kind of failed or failing hardware attached to a controller and the controller the device is attached to doesn't like it. so try removing some of the non essentials such as, hard drives. opticle drives. see how it goes.

    it's backwards compatible to work with pci-express x16 1.0 but all it means it has a lower bus cap of 2GB/s knows as pci-express x8 mode. if you upgrade your motherboard in the future make sure it's pci-express x16 2.0 (4GB/s) bus cap.

    never heard of it, what your best off doin is having one server tower, having a raid configuration raid 1, raid 5 or raid 10 so you will not have to worry about losing data. and for psu invest in a redundant psu, also a ups.

    sounds like graphics card to me, if it was power supply unit your machine would most likely shutdown completely. I've had a similar problem before what I had to do was reseat my graphics card and use generic drivers. left it for 30 mins before updating to proper drivers.

    have you benched your hard drives using hd tune? have you ran prime95 for stability issues? I would also try disabling ati poller service in services.msc alot of people report slow machines due to that service.
