    Lite-on SOHC-5236K - Blank window upon inserting/CD's + DVD's

First thing I'd try is to try booting from your XP CD or any other CD that is bootable. This will rule out a Windows problem and will most definitely determine if the drive is dead. Unfortunately, like any other electronic device, they are prone to failure and bad batches from the manufacturers.

I'd say you wouldn't get anymore than $800 on the whole. If you sold the parts separately, you might get more, though.

    DVD Media Quality Guide

4th Class Media - Did I hear someone say CHEAP crap? Stay away at all costs. These are really only good for playing Frisbee in the park and will most definitely contribute to some landfill. If your drives choke on the disc, I won't be suprised. If you get more than a year from them, I'll...

    Average Response Time

I don't remember where I saw this feature, but it sums up the average response time over, say the last 30 threads or so. Is it possible to integrate this feature? Do you think it's a good statistic to have? I don't know where in the index it could be placed, though.

    Lexmark

Epson and Lexmark printers have always had an excessive appetite for ink. This of course is why the companies give you the printer for practically nothing. The low price coupled with alluring ads is what suckers people into buying these printers. Only once you have it on your desk do you realize...

    Card Comparison

Yes it is. But the even though it is a newer, more efficient core, it still uses DDR2 memory onboard at 800Mhz and has a lower clockspeed (400-450) compared to the 6600GT(500). In most cases, I've seen the 7600GS pull ahead by 4-8 FPS. Which is why a little overclock can equal it. SLI is not...

    Remote broadband for laptop?

If wireless broadband is not an option, the only thing left is roaming. Essentially using the notebook's wireless NIC to access wireless 'Hotspots' around the country. You log on to the hotspot, provide credit card details and hey presto, you have wireless internet until you leave the hotspot...

    Remote broadband for laptop?

You can purchase a wireless broadband adapter (usually a PC Card or PCMCIA card) that plugs into your notebook. From there, the card connects to a satellite giving you broadband freedom. It might in you best interests to look at what your ISP offers. I'm not sure about what sort of wireless...

    Card Comparison

First the 6600gt 128mb, then the 6600gt 256mb and last the 7600gs 256b. The 7600GS is only a little faster than the 6600GT. With a little overclock and a capable system, the GT can equal or outrun a GS.
