Nevermind, did some research and found out it is a 478. Also here is a picture of my mobo, you can see where the AGP slot is supposed to be, but isn't. They were made like that, its an MSI mobo. Do you think there is a way to put a slot on there?

Can I tell what socket my CPU is without taking it out?? I have a Celeron 2.8Ghz and I want a better processor, I need to know the socket but I dont want to have to take the cpu out. Thanks in advance.

Thanks guys, I downloaded Fraps. Its really easy to use. But I realized I was only getting 60 fps max in Call of Duty United Offensive Multiplayer; 30 fps in crowded areas. ......... Oh well, that's what I get for having a mobo with no AGP or PCI-E graphics, I have a :swear: PCI graphics card.

How do you find out how many FPS you are getting? I seen a screenshot of Oblivion somewhere and it had a display to show how many FPS there were.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think one 7950GX2 is cheaper than 2 X1900XTX's. One GX2 is just a little bit more than one XTX. 2 XTX's would be $800+.

I have to admit, it is a little overkill for today's games, but as stated, I want to future-proof this machine. If there's already games like Oblivion putting most high-end systems to shame, I can only imagine what there will be in a few years :confused:.

I was leaning towards the GX2. One of the major reasons being Quad SLI, that is, whenever they're gonna release the drivers for it.

Not anymore! AMD just had drastic price cuts to compete with Intel's new Core 2 chips coming out An X2 3800+ Windsor socket AM2 is selling for $149.99 on NewEgg! Great news for me, now I can build my system with a dual-core.

AMD 3500+ prossesors Do you guys know if the new Battlefield 2142 will be DX10? I was watching a demo on it and the graphics are amazing. I hope that the system I'm gonna build will be enough for most upcoming games.

Will a 3500+ be able to run smoothly games like BF2, CoD2, Quake 4, bla bla bla with a good graphics card and ample memory? The main reason why I ask is because I was reading on them and 512KB L2 cache isn't really that much.
