What do you use your computer for? 512 total is probably plenty unless you use it for specific things like games.

x8 x8 is PCI express x8 x16 x16 is PCI express x16 Therefore, you will get twice as much bandwidth with the x16 If you want to keep this motherboard for a long time, I would think x16 would be the way to go, but as always, I think it's (x16 over x8) more hype than anything.

I would guess its your psu. If you have another one handy, try using that. Also, another person in another thread said that sometimes the battery on the motherboard goes bad. They are like 1 or 2 dollars, so that's a cheap way to check, but I would try the power supply first.

pentium 1 233 with mmx usually has l2 cache on the mainboard. Most commonly 256kb, but sometimes 512kb. Regular pentium 1s are supposed to have 16kb cache, but mmx have 32kb on chip cache.

What I meant was if they are the same price. I wouldn't pay more for a dual-core, but I would definitely pay the same. Some people would not agree with me and they know more! : )
