just installed xp now its starts up np but if u shutdown using the restart button it stops at veryfying dm1 pool data any one know why thx andy

tried to install a dvd writer after that no cd roms will not work my dvd rom and cd writer get picked up on startup but not in my computer they are on device manager with a yellow eclamation mark tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail windows wont pick them up please help...
