Ok thanks for the response. AFAIK 32 bit OS's can only address a certain amount of RAM. I'm not sure on the exact amount tbh. XP 64 bit will be able to use much, much more but I don't trust that i'll be able to find the right driver's for everything.

This is a hypothetical one really, but :- If I were speccing a new PC i'd be looking at two Intel chips. E6850 Dual core running at 3Ghz or Q600 Quad core running at 2.4Ghz. Now obviously the E6850 is running faster but the Q6600 has double the cores (I think that's correct)...

I would have thought you would need at least a 450W power supply from a decent brand name for your system. I've always used Antec and they haven't let me down yet.
