I agree with Matt555. Sounds like the PSU could be at fault in the new case. Do you still have the old PSU from the old tower? If its a temperature problem try running the case with the side off and a desk fan blowing inwards if you have one. Another thing to try might be to reseat the memory...

Makes sense! :O Even with the connection down I can access the routers control panel via its IP address so I guess that means the problem is the internet connection in one way or another. Like I said I'll ping both again when the connection drops.

Does your current HDD only have 5.9GB free at the moment? That sounds pretty full (defrag or upgrade time?) to me.
