just got a new geforce 6800gt

whats the best to buy-an athlon 64 bit 3.2 or an Intel Pentium 4 "Prescott" 3.2GHz. i currently have an athlon2800xp and wonder if any of the aforementioned CPUs are worth a go :good: :good:

cpu is at 55 degrees and fan is capable up to an athlon 3200, only running a 2.8.

i am finding that on some games, namely HL2, that after playing for an hour, games freeze up and i get a high pitched tone. i then have to reboot. any ideas would be welcome. no other evidence of any overheating i am using a feforce 6800gt, athlon2.8, 750 mb ddr 400 ram :swt: :swt: :swt...
