That's a very beefy video card, and you could always SLI it later if you really wanted. Do you have the 2GB model?

    The Official HWF Kernel Repo

Weird that I've never seen this, but it is a confirmed bug in Lenny's kernel-package tool and seems to be fixed in the next build. #518107 - kernel-package: make-kpkg should use update-initramfs when - Debian Bug report logs P.S. - your kernel-img.conf looks fine to me. I think it's safe to...

It sounds like a warning about the way Lenny is using mkinitramfs-kpkg. What you're doing is fine, and keep in mind that it's a deprecation warning and not a failure message. Still, I'm not getting this on any of my Lenny machines; can you post your /etc/kernel-img.conf?

    Fast Downloads - Slow Website

A download requires only one active TCP state, which entails receiving large blocks of data from the server side and sending brief receipt confirmations from the client side. The server side will wait until the client side has confirmed that the data has been received before sending more...

Graphical glitch in some games - Help!

Nope, again, only the chipset that runs the buss it's connected to needs drivers. The device itself follows the buss's standards, i.e. IDE or SATA.

Graphical glitch in some games - Help!

This may sound basic or insulting, but just wanted to check... the PCIE power connector to the video card is plugged in, right? As for "Windows 7" actually being "Vista second edition", that's pretty much what's going on. Vista is NT version 6, and W7 seems to actually report itself as NT 6.1...

Bash Commands Tutorial SSH into Samba Server, Centos 5.3 64bit

SSH, or Secure SHell, is a way of getting a local shell on a remote *nix system over an SSL tunnel. It is not a shell itself, so the commands you use on the other side depend almost entirely on what shell you've got on the remote side (e.g. BASH). In other words, using RDP to access a Windows...

Graphical glitch in some games - Help!

You can get the DirectX Redistributable binary from download.microsoft.com. If that doesn't work, the final theory out of me is that it could just be a Vista problem. It seems like Vista has been your only constant through all the part swapping and drive wiping... could the problem be the...

The next thing I would try would be making sure the chipset and video drivers are current, try reinstalling DirectX, and make sure that the affected games are fully patched.

    Always Innovating Touch Book Frankenstein

Agreed, I migrated from Windows to Linux years ago, and I haven't regretted that decision once. If you really need Windows for some application, there's always WINE or failing that VirtualBox. But in any case, that CPU is soldered on and is not designed to be modular.
