8xAA is not working properly then because 8xAA is unplayable, infact 4xAA is even, had a long argument on this on another forum were some guy rekons he was running 16xAA when no one can actually run 2xaa smoothly through the whole game.

You gaming at the 24" native res? If so, you would be lucky to get 2xaa totally smooth, AA is a killer, lets hope the patch helps :). On your crysis shortcut, right click it and click properties, add -DX9 at the end of Target to improve fps, DX10 brings nothing new to the table in this game...

I would think the samsung monitors are reliable they do good quality, I was worried about dead pixels and if the monitor would get damaged, the monitors come well packed so should be fine :).

Get a 22" monitor which is much better, check out ones from Samsung, what is your budget?

The 8800GT requires only 1 power connectors. PSU's with 1x PCI-E connector are fine for GPU's that have 2x PCI-E connectors since you get an adaptor (Molex - PCI-E) with most GPU's now adays.

Dont be upgrading that rig, its too old. DDR is obsolete now basically and not worth the money, its not the card that will cause bottleneck, infact for an 8800GTS or GTX its your CPU thats going to be a bottleneck.

The 8800GTS is the same length as an X1950Pro, something like 9.5" :) You could always go for the 640MB 8800GTS for piece of mind, you just need a card to get you through to september though, then upgrade to G90, save up though, you'll need it ;)

Those 2600XT's are not worth the money and perform worse than a 7900GS, X1950Pro etc... The problem with the 2600 series is that sure they are DX10, but they wont be playing any DX10 games at good levels. There only good cards at the moment to look for are: X1950Pro X1900XT 256MB...
