Oh I wont be matching it with my current ram haha coz it wont work anyway since C2D setups only can use DDR2 ram. In july I am upgrading to C2Quad6600.

Are you sure? this is the ram I am getting for 110 quid in P&P off someone and its gonna be used in that mobo.

Can you download 3DMark 05 or 06 and post your results, that will give an idea of your performance. For 3DMark 05 I am guessing your score should be around 12000-15000 and 06 around 8000. Leave all settings at standard (3DMark is free btw if you did not know)

That cant be right, 75 degrees is far too hot, could be a faulty temperature sensor, you got thermal paste applied correctly on the CPU? Also check the HSF is on properly.

A Pentium 4 is a Pentium 4 Dual core and were released some time before the C2D so its ok that there like a 2ghz C2D, they proberbly are not as fast as a 2ghz C2D tho. The best CPU's for a budget system now are the E6320, E6420, E4300, 4400, 2140 and 2160

Its just not worth the money when you can get an X1950Pro for cheaper than runs all DX9 games well and really the 8600GTS aint gonna run DX10 stuff good at all and by the time he wants to play DX10 games he will need a new graphics card anyway so the X1950Pro is the best choice and its faster.

This is the order they go in from best to worse: X1950Pro 8600GTS 8600GT 8500GT X800 X1600 6100 So yours best off getting an X1900Pro, best value, its not DX10 I know, but 8600 series wont be much use for DX10 so X1950Pro is the best choice :)

Which Corsair PSU you got? I got the HX520. If you can, get an EVGA 8800GTS ACS3 KO 640MB, awsome overclockers : o, I got mine at 650mhz / 2.2ghz memory.

I would go for the Corsair. Most people say the 320mb will be fine for 1280x1024 up to 1600x1200, but I only game at 1440x900, the 640mb memory is a piece of mind, and even at lower res some games can struggle with the lower memory.
