Go into safe mode and try to uninstall the display drivers. That computer is not good spec to run Vista on anyway, you will get awfull performance.

I would not botherd getting the 8800Ultra, its not worth the extra cost over an 8800GTX. Also if possible get a Logitech Z5500 over the Z2300. Make sure the 8800 fits, there like 10.5"

60 degrees idle is perfectly ok. When I had an 8800GTS I had it overclocked to 620/980 and it idled at about 64, expect it to get into the 80's at load, its fine :)
