What games? And by max, what do you mean? at what res? They cant be new games, because if you tried to play a game like Test Drive Unlimited at medium-high, you would be getting around 10fps.

Welcome to the forums :) Well, clock speed for the CPU is not the most important thing but can benefit some video cards. I think your going to have to upp your budget, Its going to be very very difficult to buy even a decent stuff for $350 and 512mb really is not enough, 1gb - 2gb ram...

Lol, well the CPU plays an important part in games too... as said, you need a good CPU for a card like an 8800GTS/GTX to perform to its maximum. For windows any decent dual core will do lol, just for video encoding and things like that is also were you need a good cpu.

Well, for GPU's like the 8800 series, the CPU deffenitly is a bottleneck, and a good C2D or an overclocked E6300 would be needed, infact, people with 8800 series graphics cards have reported double FPS increase when upgrading from a similar CPU to mine, or a dual core AMD to a C2D.

Its not the ram you should be worrying about, its the CPU, whats his full new system specs? I have PC3200 ram, not a bottleneck for the GPU, its the CPU thats the bottleneck, allthough better /faster ram will give more performance but PC5400 should be ok. Is he getting an 8800GTS or an 8800GTX?

Actually overclocking can give quite a good performance boost, and not always does it create stability problems, for example, my 3700+ AMD is voerclocked my 600mhz, any stability problems? nope, GPU stock = 500/1.6ghz, overclock, 620/1.96ghz, stability issues? nope.

Ok, but its not like everthing would die if mosquitos dissapeard, but anyway, I think malaria does not benefit anything.
