    OK, Windows XP Profesional is now installed but ... I went to install the missing drivers and as I tried I discovered that I didn't even have drivers for the network card. I sense this is getting really nooby now but I am a noob and I need help. Thanks!

    Well first of all, thank you - this is looking promising! Secondly: It's a Fujitsu-Siemens Lifebook S7010D. I've got a copy of the original XP (Profesional) -disk that came with the computer ( + the registration code).

    Hi, I got my new (used) computer yesterday. It worked fine at first but then I happened to fuck it up, so now it's fucked up :O I'd like to completely reset it so that it is as if it was right out of the box with no OS installed. I have got access to BIOS, please help! Thanks!

    Debian, huh - OK thanks, it's on my list of posibilities. First of all, I'd like you to know, I've got dual boot with Windows XP. 1. Wordprocessing, presentetaions, surfing, programming, waching movies. 2. I am a silly man, but I guess root at all time isn't necessary.
