    my new router

I've never heard of that before. I know you can configure one as a switch so that DHCP services don't interfere, and then use them together, but one the same ADSL line I don't think it's possible.

Hold onto that one AT, it'll get you thousands in future!

    CPU's FSB & RAM

The clock speed of the video card's processor and memory is independent of the CPU and RAM.

    HDD buffer

Every interaction with the hard disk is done through a controller, so the CPU doesn't have to deal with the mechanics anyway, with less cache the CPU will have to stop it's current task to send more data more often.

    HDD buffer

As far as I'm aware, the cache on the disk will buffer read/writes to it, and a larger disk buffer will mean the CPU will send larger amounts of data fewer times, while it does other things. For the extra £1, I think it's worth it for the 8mb cache.

    Cairo: A Windows Shell Alternative

I have to use Windows sometimes, and if it was with this software (if it ever takes off) then it'd be a much more enjoyable experience.

    HD DVD vs Blu ray

Despite my preference for one format, I still don't want one format to win over another which results in poor quality for the consumer. Warner have switched to blu-ray, but I wouldn't say it's quite over yet. Universal and Paramount are still big studios in my mind, but I don't know all that...

    after using Linux

Beryl no longer exists, the project merged with Compiz which is why you can't find it anymore. As for flash player, it should be in one of the repositories. Check the ubuntu wikis for it, usually there's a way to install it automatically with the right repo added. As I said before, using...

Pirate Bay Team Charged with Aiding or Facilitating Copyright Infringement.

Yes, probably. I'm generalising over all torrent sites though, PTB just happens to openly admit that it's purpose is to facilitate the sharing of copyrighted content.

    Any Advice?

Just leave it as it is, then use cpu-z to check that your RAM is operating at the specified speed. If not, then you can change the settings.

The drug dealers would be the people who upload the content, and share it. PTB is more like the dark alley where they meet.

    Liverpool

United have just had a bad result, even though it was a last minute equaliser. But Liverpool have been so bad it's unbelievable. I would LOVE it if they did a Leeds.

    Why does windows suck?

Yes I realise I should have differentiated between 98/NT codebase. More accurate to say NT>DOS, NT5.2<5.1 etc.

    Why does windows suck?

Since the 98 days, Windows has improved in terms of stability. Let's be honest 98 was a farce, it didn't even deserve to be called an OS. 98 is what you get when your development team consists of 18 year old VB programmers drinking whiskey. For every thing that seems to have "improved" there...

    after using Linux

Debian/Ubuntu have massive repositories so you very rarely have to isntall/compile anything out of the system. Things like Opera though, unless you have the commercial repo added can be installed using the single package file. You can use dpkg -i kor use the GUI installer.

    after using Linux

I would always recommend using your package manager to fetch and install packages wherever you can. Downloading packages isn't always reliable, but the ones in repos using the yum tool are usually specifically built for your system (software). Debian and derivatives use the apt set of tools...

    Global Warming

Slightly off topic, but a lot of these issues and others similar to it are poked fun at by South Park. I myself find it hard not to agree with most it, they take the stance of being not at the extremes of either argument, yet sometimes leave you thinking....and sometimes just laughing.
