    Problem with DVD burner

You know, I think that might be what's wrong. I've checked again and yes, it says it's DVD+RW... Stupid me, it never occured to me that DVD-R and DVD+R might not be the same. How embarrassing! :o Of course I don't have the discs at home to try this at the moment but I will get some on Monday...

    Problem with DVD burner

Hm, just found the driver, but apparently it's only for installation in Windows NT. For XP (which I'm using), it should be pre-installed. I'll try with a different make of DVD-R. Hopefully it will then recognise the discs... Might also contact the customer service for NEC. Thanks for the...

    Mirrordisc memory question

Er, it's a kind of rescue disc device. My normal harddrive is d:/ and the rescue disc is located at c:/. It just contains backups of the operating system and not much else for the case that the system needs to be restored.

    Problem with DVD burner

No, I haven't tried that yet. I bought some Panasonic DVD-R Discs, which don't seem to work, but don't have any others at home. Will try it, though, thanks for suggesting it. I don't seem to have the driver for the burner on a disc, but Ahead Nero came pre-installed so I imagine that's it...

    Problem with DVD burner

Not sure this is the info you asked for but all I could find was this: NEC DVD + RW ND-1100A Sorry, I'm not very good with this... :( Do you think it might help if I re-installed the drivers?

    Mirrordisc memory question

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for my question so if it isn't, feel free to move the post. I have a problem with the memory allocation for my mirrordisc. It is running out of space to the extent that I can't even defragment it anymore, but I don't seem to be able to increase...

    Problem with DVD burner

I have a CDRW/DVD-R burner but for some reason it doesn't seem to even recognise DVD-R discs. I have burnt CDRs before and that's no problem. It recognises CDRs just fine but when I try to use DVD-Rs I get an error message to check the drive and to input a disc... Any suggestions what might be...

Help with reception and recording of TV on computer

I'm only on the basic package, you see... Still, £100 is pretty cheap. Will have to look into that. And thanks for the link to the right TV capture card - that's a great help. Will the one card cover everything then - meaning, can I just connect a digibox and my VHS to the computer and it...

Help with reception and recording of TV on computer

Thanks for the quick reply! I subscribe to Sky but because of the cost involved with Sky + was thinking about getting skymultiroom, which only involves the purchase of another digibox and a £10 fee per month. I also need the image capture function for videos, as this is something I need for...

Help with reception and recording of TV on computer

Hi. I'm new to the forum so I'm not entirely sure if this is the right section to post my question in, so let me know if it isn't! I'm planning on buying a second sky digibox to be able to watch and record television programmes from my PC. I also want to be able to connect a VCR so I can a)...
