What exactly is the problem? You do get dual core 3GHz P4s called Pentium Ds. However that is probably just a normal Northwood core with Hyperthreading.

oh sorry he got confused with dual core and HT hyper threading.

he has a problem simaler to me, his cpu temp reaiding is registering at 70 degrees at idle!

it seems like he has no paste on his cpu, but i am trying to ask him if this is the case.

Either that or theres not enough airflow in his case/dying CPU fan.

ok, he has the exact same problem as me, computer shutting down on games, and computer shutting down before he can get into windows when he overclocks his cpu over 3.2ghz.

Yea definately sounds like an overheating problem. It might just be the fact the Prescott runs like a fusion reactor. Overclocking it makes a lot more heat than ocing with the older cores.
