I still have to buy a Monitor, keyboard and Mouse oh yea nd windows XPH.. which will cost her around 500 more. The main website I've used is pricespy.co.nz, well this is the best website for NZ computers and it was in a PC magzine as well. Admins, u can add this website in ur list for future referrence if u want....
Anyways, back to topic, what do u guys think about this machine...?

If its graphic designing i STRONGLY recommend Pentium Hyperthreading, I've never come across an amd that is nearly as good as the P4 HT, at work we have AMD 3000+, but the performance is nowhere near as good as the p4 3ghz HT!! p4HT takes a hell of a lot more to reach 100% load, never does it during windows startup or playing games, starting games or anything of normal stress levels it is an absulootly excellent chip, higher price for a reason!

they also have 4x extra buffer than your amd choice and I guarentee you P4 3GHzHT will never reach 100% cpu load where AMD 3500+ will, their "3500" tag signatures are refering to their slowest rival (AMD Thuron (canny remember the name)) and fooling peeps into thinking they're talking about the P4

after moving from amd i've never had the need to go back i cannot stress enough the power difference with intel "hyperthreading" good luck with your choice
 
But remember P4's run extremely hot, are inefficient and power hungry.

Maybe look at a Core 2 Duo rig?

power hungry maybe im not sure, but if so its with good reason, im not fooling you here im only giving you my experience opinion but since using P4HT its never let me down, my idle temps run at about 30'c and max (full load) 50'c, much less if you turn up the fan (i have a fan adjuster) but normal temps run at abut 38 - 45'c, no reason to go higher unless im stressing it out with multiple dvd-ripping

also the P4 HT Prescott is highly overclockable, 3400MHz can run at 4080MHz highly stable provided it runs below 50'c (not a problem with my £30 cooler)

That's not true. AMD was doing the PR rating system as a direct comparison to their Thunderbird core at that speed. It has never been made to form a direct relationship to the Pentium counterpart. AMD had a 3rd party come in and do these tests and that's why they did it. People, and this isn't Intel's fault, were making an assumption that CPU speed meant everything. Unlike past PR systems, AMD wasn't comparing itself to the Pentium brand.

Intel still did pretty well with dual-core pricing in the Pentium 4 side, so you may want to consider that if possible. You may also see what a dual-core Athlon64 runs and figure with that.

Wow, you're stuck with a really thin line of good PSU's. You might think about bumping up to a ToughPower line, since it's not that much more. Specifically, this 600W ToughPower

Everything else looks good, though.
