Just got all my parts yesterday and threw it together, and it won't post, no beeps, keyboard doesn't light up, and I get no video signal. Case fans work, chipset fan works, CPU fan works, CD Rom tray opens. I bought the ASUS A8N Deluxe with a Althlon 64 3500+ Venice chip.
To help you we are going to also need more specs! What else have you included in your build? Specifically ram and video card model and any and all other components! What have you tried to remedy the problem if anything? Have you made sure the RAM, Video Card, CPU and all other cables are secured properly in their positions? Is your RAM compatible with that motherboard?
Xion 2 case Corsair Twin Pack DDR2 1gig - 2x512 sticks SATA WD Raptor 36gig Lite-on Combo CD ROM drive Thermal Take Big Typhoon CPU Fan Reseated the memory, reconnected everything in the case. Tied booting just the board, unhooked the drives and left just the mobo powered. LED is lit on the board and Chipset fan works. I don't have a second PCIExpress Card to swap, or power supply.
Try booting it barebones, by that i mean without all drives. Boot it without RAM at first, and then with RAM and without the video card to try to establish an error beep!
Make sure the motherboard is not getting grounded to the case where not necessary. Other than that there is probably a good chance your motherboard is faulty
Just dropped it at the shop around the corner from work, they said they'd know in a couple hours, so we'll see. Will newegg refund or just exchange? If they don't refund, maybe I can put the board value toward my second vid card.
I had this motherboard twice! The first time I installed it, it was my fault I shorted the board by grounding it. The second one I got, it worked at first, but then it just died on me. It ended up being a faulty board. I returned it, and got my self a chaintech and havent had a problem yet, but I will soon be getting that ASUS back again. If you tried everything, then the board is bad, take it back. The shop that you went to, will most likely try to test it with a mobo 20-pin connector mobo tester (with pretty lights), but I believe that asus is 24-pin and they won't have that... so they are going to do the same thing you have already done. Good Luck to you, just thought I would share my expereience with that board.
