I found this article even though its kind of old, it does have a lot of information i didn't even realize, like they are making a swith to 65nm while current AM2 processors are 90nm cores so thats why there a big performance loss, or they can't fully realize the DDR2's potential. AM2_article
If you've been reading any of my posts, you will see that I've been saying this all along. This article is only half right. AM2 can still utilize DDR2-1066, which make them fierce. Though they will not be as good as the next 65nm technology (as they will be able to overclock even better), let's not underestimate AM2s potential right now. I believe they are very superior to 939's and just under the Core2's, with just some heat holding them back. The faster memory is already on it's way though, which makes AM2 the best choice. Not to mention, you will have the AM2 4x4 system. I doubt there will be a 939 4x4.
honestly, i don't know how i feel about the 4x4 socket system that AMD is some kind of planning on, but we'll see
4x4 Is sort of like SLI, it's not really worth the money, but does yield performance boost. Their real money will be when the 65nm comes out. But still AM2 has more advantages over 939. I would recommend the article only if the AM2 just came out, but it's been out for enough time that it's advantages are beginning to show.
