no, symantec antivirus is your AV software folder and symantec is for misc utils,

just move the folder back to its original location and restart, and all should be ok

Ok well I already tried moving the file back and I tried system restore. But I found my charter virus protection and was going to install it but I needed to uninstall my symantec first. So I went to control panel/add remove programs/symantec antivirus and I tried to uninstall it but it asked for the disk in order for me to uninstall it.

Seeing as how I didnt have the disk I instead just installed charter antivirus anyway. As I type this it is scanning my system for viruses. So I guess my new question is how do I uninstall my old virus protection?

    thx

Thats what I've found on the internet with a quick search. Hopefully it will work for you.

you could just leave it installed, but just disable it, try this and stop Symantec AV from running at XP start
