asrock K7VT4A Pro mouse not picked up

    just finished a rebuild with the asrock motherboard got it all sorted so it picks up everything but the mouse, the mouse gets power but it is frozen on the screen, also caps lock does not work??? any ideas folks, this is for a friends birthday a week ago please help:swear:

    Is it PS2 or USB?

    its on the ps2 port and mouse has power tried optical mouse and wheel mouse still nothing baffling me completely

    try a known working mouse - your mouse could be knackered

    have done so with two working mice, baffling isnt it seeing as it is a brand new motherboard im starting to think it is faulty, will phone the people i got it from on tuesday, thanks for your time, i just hoped someone would of come up with this before, and know a fix, regards Jadedhills

    well if you've tried different mice i can only think the PS/2 port is damaged, did you connect or disconnect the mouse while pc turned on (probably) use a PS/2 to USB convertor and connect the mouse to your USB

    something thats always worth trying with a new M/B is a BIOS reset, as it could have being returned to the supplyer as faulty
