    Hey Folks,

An apology if this is in the wrong forum.

    RAM: Corsair 1GB DDR XMS3200C2PT TwinX (2x512MB) CAS2

Motherboard: Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe (Dual Channel)

    CPU: AMD 3200 XP

I have recently purchased some Corsair 1GB (see above) and I’m running an Asus A7N8X E-Deluxe, 3200XP CPU (400fsb). I don’t know if this is a problem but in running this memory I have noticed its running at C3, and not CAS Latency 2, as it should. Is their a reason for this? In first noticing this ‘problem’ I had updated my BIOS to the latest revision from the Asus website, (1013). I still, however do not seem to be having any luck, with getting it to run at C2.

Any help would me much appreciated

    Cheers

You may need to up your DDR voltage a little bit. Off-hand, I can't remember if Corsair RAM likes a little extra juice or not. Secondly, the nForce 2 chipset tends not to like to play nice with CAS 3. Try CAS 2.5 and see if that's working for you. I don't know if there are any issues with BIOS 1013, but if you weren't having problems beforehand, you really didn't need to update to a new BIOS version. I believe that BIOS 1012 is pretty good from what I've read. I've personally stuck with 1008 myself since I got the board and it's not given me problems. I would stay clear from BIOSes 1009-1011, as they seem to have some fun problems associated with it, including the user to have to reinstall windows.

Corsair (non value) tends to like abit more juice, however, you could always try and run as BigB suggested.. CAS2.5 and really tighten your timings :good:
