    Hi

I've just got a Asus K8N motherboard and have a SATA hard Drive which is my primary drive. I've got two old ide drives on which I need some data off. The problem is that once I connect them to my machine they become the primary and secondary drives and push my SATA down to the third drive, then my machine will not boot. Does anybody know how I can make my SATA the primary drive or is it just a case that IDE drives will always be the primary drives if install.

    Thanks

I don't have the motherboard, but you should be able to set the boot order in BIOS, and the motherboard may even have a boot drive manager that you can jump into without having to go into BIOS. Either way, all you should need to do is specify which drive you want to boot first.
